Laois star Mo Nerney now leads the way in the race for the 2022 ZuCar Golden Boot award

THERE’S a new leader in the race for the 2022 ZuCar Golden Boot award!

With a total of 4-26 (38 points), Laois star M Nerney is four points clear of her nearest challenger at this point in time, Wexford’s Aisling Murphy, who has a tally of 8-10 (34).

To add further intrigue to the race, Laois and Wexford will go head to head in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Final on July 31, when the ZuCar Golden Boot winner could be decided!

Eimear Smyth from Fermanagh is another player with a chance of landing the big prize. She’ll start the 2022 TG4 All-Ireland Junior Final against Antrim on 4-17 (29 points), which is currently nine points off the pace being set by Nerney.

The players in fourth, fifth and sixth positions currently have all exited the 2022 Championships, while seventh-placed Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh (3-17 – 26 points) is looking ahead to a TG4 All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Mayo on Saturday.

Erone Fitzpatrick from Laois (4-12 – 24 points) is in eighth place, followed by Wexford’s Caitriona Murray and Longford’s Michelle Farrell.
