Junior Final: Throw in 1. 30pm
Wicklow v Louth

On Sunday next Wicklow and Louth contest the TG4 Leinster Junior Final for the second year in succession, with the Garden County looking to retain their TG4 Junior Leinster title, while the Wee County will be hoping to over turn last years result 5-8 to 0-16. Cathriona McKeon, who plays her club football with Kilbride will lead out the Wicklow side while the Louth ladies will be led out by their captain Edel McKeown Sloane.
In the run in to this weekends Leinster junior final, Louth, had a shaky start in their semi final game against Offaly, where they trailed by two points 0-2 to 0-5 at the end of the first half, however they upped their game in the second period to run out convincing winners 0-11 to 0-5.
Wicklow on the other hand had a narrow three point victory over Carlow 1-9 to 1-6 in their semi-final game, Carlow had a three point lead at the end of the third quarter, and seemed to have Wicklow on the back foot, but Wicklow showed their fighting spirit when Amie Byrne added a goal and two points in the final quarter to book Wicklow’s place in today’s final.
Its eleven years since the Wee County last got their hands on the Leinster Championship trophy, and although they were runners up in last years final, they start this years final as favourites to lift the trophy, having all ready beaten Wicklow in the first round of the TG4 all Ireland series (1-5 to 2-8) on Sunday last (12.7.09).
But when referee Pat Keogh throws the ball in at 1.30 on Sunday next, both sides will be starting with a clean sheet and there is no doubt that this will be another competitive final.
