Leinster Club Championship Match Report – A.G.B.L
V Clongeen

AGBL’s trip to Wexford to play Clongeen in the
1st. round of the leinster club championship ended
in disapointment for the Arklow side. Clongeen proved
to be a more experienced and physical side.

Clongeen got the mark after 4 mins with a well taken
point, however Arklow’s Liz Fahy quickly responded
with a point in the 5th and a super goal in the
9th min Clongeen then stepped up a gear scoring
1-6 the only response from Arklow was a point in
the 33rd min from Molly mordaunt. The half ending
A.G.B.L.1-3 Clongeen 1-7

Clongeen started the 2nd half hitting the bottom
of the Arklow post in the 2nd min and a brillant
save from Arklow’s keeper Tina Byrne kept her side
in the game. Liz fahy again hit the back of the
net for Arklow in the 9th minute of the second half
Clongeen’s came back with 3 points in quick succession.

Clongeen were then award a penalty which was struck
hard and low to the keepers right, Arklows keeper
pulled off another brillant save, the Clongeen forwards
were quickest to pounce on the rebound and slot
the ball home. Bringing their tally to 2-10,Clongeen
followed up with another goal with no response from
the Arklow side.

The game ending A.G.B.L. 2-3 Clongeen 3-10.
