Longford and Roscommon end in stalemate

Suzuki National League – Longford V Roscommon

Neighbours Roscommon and Longford met in Div 2b of the National
League on February 28th and the game ended in a draw on a score
of Longford 5-03 to 2-12 for Roscommon. The half time score was
4-02 to 0-02 in favour of Longford. Longford scored just twice
in the second half (1-01) while Roscommon notched up 2-10.

A strong wind was blowing on the day and as it blew from end to
end of the pitch it affected scoring – the team aided by the wind
scored strongly with the wind and the old cliche “a game of two
halves” certainly resulted.

Indeed with just ten minutes remaining Roscommon were eleven points
down but they managed to score 1-08 in that period to draw the
match. Roscommon next play Down and Longford play Tipperary on
the 11th of March.
