Meath Ladies to Meet Cork twice!

Royals v Rebels on the Double!

Next weekend, Meath will be hoping for double victories over Cork as the U14s and U21s set to take on the Rebel County in their respective All Ireland semi-finals.

First up on Saturday, the Meath U14s, fresh from their Leinster Final victory over Dublin, will take on the Rebels in Crettyard, Co Laois with a throw in time of 2.30pm. Peter Byrne’s charges played the game of their lives in the Leinster Final and will undoubtedly not fear the girls in red and white. The Meath u14s have already faced the team from the South in the All Ireland U14 Blitz ‘A’ Final a few weeks ago. While coming second to Cork on the day, the Meath team have learned a lot about their opposition and will look forward to another meeting with the Rebel County. A place in the All Ireland Final awaits the winners, they will face either Cavan or Galway in the Final on July 4th.

On Sunday, the Meath u21s will seek to emulate their result from last weekend where they defeated the Rebels by a solitary point. With just three teams in this year’s U21 ‘A’ Championship, Meath have played just two games – a loss to Dublin and a single point win over Cork. Dublin, having beaten Cork soundly on Sunday, have booked their place in the All Ireland Final while Meath will travel to Nenagh to take on the Rebels in the All Ireland semi-final. With the final scheduled for June 21st, fixture congestion could prove an issue as the Meath Seniors are also due to begin their Leinster Championship on the same weekend against Laois. However, this is a problem the Meath girls will want as they hope to secure a place in the final for the second year in a row. Throw in time in Nenagh is set for 2pm.
