Meath take out their frustration on Longford Leinster Senior Championship Meath v Longford Pairc Tailteann, Navan Sunday May 22nd Half time: Meath 4 – 11 Longford 0 – 03 Full time: Meath 6 – 23 Longford 0 – 03 Meaths championship finally got off the ground on Sunday at Pairc Tailteann when they took all their frustrations of the previous week out on Longford. It was less than a minute into the game when Grainne Nulty netted from close range. This was to be the sign of things to come. Meath went on a scoring spree with Ger Doherty, Grainne Nulty and Gillian Bennett taking the Longford defence apart. Ger Doherty bagged a personal tally of 1 – 06 for the first half. Meaths superior passing and speed were the difference between the teams and Meath went into the break 4 – 11 to 0 – 03 ahead. Meath started the second half where they left off in the first half and Longford had no answer to the Meath attack. One sour note to the win was an injury to Katie McMahon who left the field with a broken collar bone. Meath are heading into the break now with renewed vigour.
