Mayo LGFA are delighted to announce that former Mayo ace, Michael Moyles has been ratified as the new Mayo Ladies Senior Football manager. Following an extensive interview process, Moyles was ratified by county board delegates on Saturday evening. Moyles will succeed Peter Leahy in the role and is hoping to build on the progress over the past number of years, adding a wealth of knowledge and experience. The former Crossmolina and Mayo man is no stranger to the Mayo ladies set-up, having coached the team in 2015, reaching the quarter finals. Moyles has a serious pedigree at club level, having coached Knockmore to reach the county final in 2016 and more recently in 2019, to be crowned division 1 league champions. During the last number of years, Moyles has spent time managing both the Leitrim Men’s Senior Team and the u20’s. Moyles has put together a noteworthy backroom team, pulling talent from all over the country to fill the roles and build on the existing talent within the county. Aidan McLoughlin, Tom Carney, and Marita McDonald will fill the selector roles, each bringing years of experience to the set-up, along with Terry Kennedy, adding to the coaching staff. Conor Finn of Claremorris will take the position of fitness coach with Austin O’Malley coming in as elite performance coach. Former Mayo star Ger Cafferkey will be providing games analysis with a keen, well-trained eye from his years playing senior football. Brendan Butler will take on the role of team physio while Paul Jennings will provide video analysis. Moyles stated he is dedicated to providing a high-performance environment where the phenomenal athletes within the LGFA can thrive and new players can be mentored and encouraged to reach their full potential.
