The Monaghan legend will be remembered as one of the best players ever to represent her county as she won no fewer than  3 All Star awards despite twice suffering serious injuries that caused her to miss a lot of playing time. She was also the subject of TG4’s Laochra Gael earlier this year.

Niamh took the decision to retire following medical advice but has vowed to continue representing her club, Magheracloone ‘I have been advised by my surgeon that I have to cut back so I will finish out my days with my beloved club Magheracloone!’

We would like to wish Niamh the very best of luck in the future with her club, Magheracloone and we look forward to seeing Niamh remain involved in the game where her vast experience will be a huge benefit.
