Liam Kelleher The AGM of the Munster Ladies Football Board was held at the Deerpark Charleville on Sunday last. President Dan O’Mahony welcomed the delegates from each of the Counties and thanked them for all the work done during then year in the Province. Highlight of the day was the comprehensive report of Secretary Marie Halvey who in a very lengthly report outlined the activities of the Board for the year. There was special mention for Munster’s win in the Interprovoncial Championship and the success of Cork teams in the All Ireland Championships at Minor and Under 14 level, as well as winning the 3 All-Ireland Club titles through Donoughmore Senior, Noamh Abán Intermediate and Gabriel Rangers Junior. She concluded by calling to mind the saddest event of the year, the tragic death in a road accident of 16 year old Naomi Mulcahy a member of her own club St Ailbe’s in Limerick. She urged all counties to work together during the coming year to give the sport in the Province an even higher profile. Treasurer Tom Madigan of Limerick showed the finances of the Board to be in a very healthy state. PRO Fr Liam Kelleher thanked the Media for the great coverage being given to the sport which showed a marked improvement during the year. Outgoing President Dan 0’Mahony of Cork was unopposed for election, but for most of the other positions there were very close contests. A Cork motion asking for the return of the under 14 Munster competition to the old formula where every team would have the same number of matches was carried Officers for 2004.
