Munster Minor

Munster Minor
The final placing of the 2008 Munster Ladies Gaelic Football minor competition was played out at Monroe Clonmel Co.Tipperary last Wednesday March 26th.

Tipperary 2-13 Limerick 1-07

Tipperary who lost out to Clare after extra time the week previous made no mistake on this occasion at wet and windy Monroe the home of Moyle Rovers G.A.A club. Limerick who entered the game after a heavy loss to Kerry the week previous tried to stem the tide but the Tipperary girls were first on the score board and they also had the opening goal of the game from midfield player Eimear Myles with her shot going all the way to the Limerick net. This seemed to spur the Shannonsiders as they upped their game and as a result of pressure applied to the home side Katie Campbell slotted the ball to the Tipperary net to leave the half time score in Tipperarys favor 1-09 to 1-03.

Tipperary piled on the pressure early in the second half and added further points before Limerick added to their tally. Emma Barrett killed the game as a contest scoring her side’s second goal to finish easy winners.

The semi final pairings see Tipperary host Cork and Clare host Kerry Saturday April 19th.
