Munster Senior Ladies Football Semi-Final

Munster Senior Ladies Football Semi-Final

Cork 2-8

Kerry 1-6

Kerry exited the Munster Senior Football Championship with a spirited 5 point defeat to five time All Ireland Senior champs, Cork, at the CIT Grounds on Saturday afternoon. After the trials and tribulations of a League campaign that saw Kerry lose all seven matches, resulting in relegation to Division 2, this positive display will surely have given William O’Sullivan’s side some confidence as they now head into the Qualifiers.

It must be remembered that when Cork and Kerry met last season in the Munster Final that the Rebellettes romped to a 24 point Munster Final win in Bruff. They did not enjoy anywhere near the same dominance this time round however. This was mainly down to the impact of a number of new and exciting championship debutants who all turned in some very positive performances. O’Sullivan, along with fellow selectors Connie O’Connor and Seamus Moriarty, also made some surprising yet ultimately successful switches to Kerry’s starting personnel.

We congratulate the Kerry team on their heartening display. We will have further details of the game and a full match report on this web site. Read on for for more pics and teams and scorers.
