Naomh Ciaran Secure Leinster Crown

Naomh Ciaran from Offaly were the team celebrating at the final whistle of a pulsating contest in the Leinster Intermediate Club Championship Final. The Offaly outfit won the game 2.15 to 3.05. Offaly’s young, rising star, Roisin Egan, was the start of the show as she finished with 5 points.

Róisín’s scores vital scores included 3 points from play and a pair of frees but the crucial score of the match came late in the second half from substitute from Roisin Ennis. Clan Na Gaels also had their moments in this match with Aisling Ryan hitting the net twice including a penalty with their third coming from substitute Sinead Taylor. It took 16 mins of the second half before the Dublin side registered their opening score of the half. Taylor got Fontenoys 3rd goal to level the game with 3 mins left but then a red card for Rebecca McDonnell added to their misery as the Offaly outfit finished with a flurry of goals to see them secure the title.

Naomh Ciaran travel to play Parnell’s London next Saturday in All Irl 1/4 Final.
