New captain for Dublin Ladies

Not only do the Dublin ladies have a new management team for their
2006 TG4 All Ireland campaign but now they have a new leader on
field in the shape of Na Fianna star Mary Nevin. The Beaumont Hospital
surgical nurse led the team out in Sundays opening Leinster Championship
game with Kildare at the Sarsfields club in Newbridge which ended
in a 0-12 points apiece draw. I

ndeed it was thanks to the new skipper that the game did end in
a draw as it was her stoppage time point from a free that secured
it. Nevin is a vastly experienced campaigner with 4 consecutive
Leinser Championship medals to her credit as well as appearances
in the All Ireland finals of 2003 and 2004.

Her superb form in 2004 was rewarded with a TG4/O Neills All Star
award.
