The Carnacon half back was the stand-out performer in her club’s recent Vhi Healthcare All Ireland Senior Club Championship victory. The 26-year-old starred for the Mayo outfit against Cork’s Inch Rovers and played a key role in breaking down Rovers’ attacking play. McGing also surged forward at any given opportunity to supply Carnacon’s deadly strike force which included Cora Staunton. Michelle was deservedly awarded the Player of the Match Award for her display in Banagher at the end of November but the former All Star is no stranger to silverware with two All Ireland medals, seven Connacht club medals and eight county club medals to her name. Speaking at the presentation, McGing said, “Winning the Club Championship was brilliant especially after the disappointment of last year. We really really wanted to win it and it didn’t matter who we played you could just feel that it was going to be our year. It’s brilliant absolutely brilliant to win this award I’m delighted.” Share this Article 0 0
