11 January 2013 O'Connor Cup Champs Begin Defence against Queens Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! The draw for the O’Connor Cup was made today with 8 teams entered into an open draw. The defending champions, UCC were the last team drawn and they will face a testing journey to Ballykelly in Kildare where they will face Queens Unviersity, Belfast. NUIGalway will welcome nsighbours, Sligo for their first round tie whilst DCU travel to the University of Limerich and UCD make the trip to Jordanstown to face UUJ. All first round ties take place on February 12th with the finals taking place in Waterford on March 16th. This is an historic year for Ladies Third Level Football as it will be the first time that the finals of the O’Connor Cup will be televised thanks to TG4.
