O'Connor Cup Gets Underway

The race to Belfast gets underway as the Ladies HEC competitions make a welcome return. Most attention will be on the O’Connor Cup with some big games already down for decision.

In Group A, UCD will have home advantage when they take on UL at 7:30 this evening whilst last year’s beaten finalists, DCU, will travel to the West Coast to meet NUIG. In Group B, Defending champions and O’Connor Cup hosts, Queen’s University of Belfast will meet close rivals, UCC in Ballykelly, Kildare.

There is a full programme of matches in the Giles Cup which is also taking place today. Trinity College Dublin welcome NUI Maynooth to Clan na Gael at 2:30pm. University of Ulster, Jordanstown and Mary Imaculate College, Limerick will meet in Thomas Davis, Dublin at 2:30 and IT Carlow and ITT meet in UL at 2pm.

The Lagan Cup gets underway tomorrow when IT Blanchardstown host IT Tallaght at 2pm and at the same time Stranmills host Cavan in Stranmills.
