Pat the Baker Ladies Post Primary Schools There was good news recently for Ladies Gaelic Post Primary Schools Football, when Pat the Baker announced their 3-year sponsorship deal with the Association. The launch of this sponsorship was held on Monday December the 11th in Croke Park at 12.30pm. Each Provincial Council schools committee were present, along with County school officers, and a schools player from each county. Hazel Fogarty (Limerick), Stephanie Regan (Clare), Ashling Leonard (Kerry), Katie Sheehan (Cork), Nichola Gilmore (Tipperary), and Theresa Curran (Waterford) were the representatives of the schools in their counties. The Chief Executive of the Association Helen O’Rourke welcomed all those present and introduced Eddie Baker representing Pat the Baker, and Geraldine Giles President of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association. Our President spoke of her delight of this new sponsorship, and of the prestige that the sponsorship would add to the post primary schools competitions. She also acknowledged the work of teachers, volunteers, and school officers throughout the country, and praised the work they were doing for ladies Gaelic football. Eddie Baker stated that the girls playing at this level are the future of their sport. He recognised the role that sport plays in the development of young people. He looked forward to the partnership with the Association, and of Pat the Bakers “commitment to supporting and growing the sport”, over the next three years at schools level. Eddie went on to say that, Pat the Baker is themselves All Ireland champions in their respective field. Share this Article 0 0
