Preview for Meath Ladies for weekend 5th April

Preview for Meath Ladies for weekend 5th April

Meath Ladies are in store for a busy weekend as their u14s, u16s and Senior team are all out in action.

On Saturday, the Lilywhites travel to Boardsmill where they will be met by the u14s at 1 and u16s at 2.45. Both Meath teams are heading into the games against Kildare on the back of wins over Wicklow last Saturday. Both teams convincingly took all three points from the Garden County in each game.
Kildare though will no doubt pose problems of their own, but it is hard to see anything but a double Royal victory again this weekend.

The Seniors will be hoping to be as fruitful as the underage are at the moment as they take on Waterford in the quarter final of the Bord Gais Energy National League at 2pm in Pairc Tailteann. The sides have already met this calendar year when they played in extreme conditions in Newtownmountkennedy in January to avoid relegation from the Senior Championship. The Royals dominated the game and ran out convincing winners on that occasion, but undoubtedly Waterford will be ready for the Royal challenge. Home advantage for the Royals will ony be capitalised on if supporters come to cheer them on.

Senior manager will be hoping for a good performance from the Seniors on Sunday after a last gasp victory over Cavan in Pairc Tailteann two weeks ago. Some of the players were busy with their colleges and many including Aedin Murray, Ciara Dempsey and Roisin Nulty were on the DCU team that won the O’Connor Cup for the first time in its history. With these players now back training with the team this week, Meath’s preparations will be all important.
