Roscommon News of The Week

Connacht Campaigns in full flow:

Pride of place this week goes to St mary’s of Tulsk who continued their march on in the Connacht junior championship whe the came from behind to record an impressive 5-16 to 3-11 win over Claremorris of Mayo in the semi-final on Saturday last in Ballinlough. A storming second half was the basis for this fantastic win. A full detailed match report appears elsewhere in this paper. The Tulsk girls now play Tuam/Cortoon of Galway in the final on the weekend of the 28th October and we wish them all the best as they strive for provincial honors.

Our other representatives – Western Gaels in the intermediate and Kilbride in the senior take center stage next weekend as they strive to continue the good work that St Mary’s have been doing. First up its Senior champions kilbride who take on the mighty Cornacon (current Connacht champions) of Mayo on Friday next (13th October) at 8pm in Kilbride. Western Gaels have to travel to Sligo on Sunday next the 15th where the take on St Mary’s in the intermediate championship semi-final. We wish both teams all the best.

Development Update:

The latest news from the development scene is that a monster table quiz takes place in Kilbride community center on Friday 20th October starting at 8pm. All players involved in all three development squads are asked to provide a table on the night. Lots of prizes are on offer and there will be a special prize for an underage team winner.

Next up then after the quiz will be our official launch of new development structure which will take place in mid-November. Dates and times will be announced next week so watch this space. Special guests will be in attendance on a night not to be missed.
