Seneschalstown Ladies Club

Seneschalstown win 6th Senior title in seven years.

Seneschalstown 4.19 V St. Ultan’s 2.10, played at Simonstown, Navan
last Sunday. Short Match Report.

Seneschalstown Senior Ladies captured their 6th Senior County Title
in seven years by beating a lively St. Ultans side on Sunday. Seneschalstown
led throughout and with Mary Sheridan and Grainne Nulty had the
upperhand at centre field they provided great support to a very
talented forward line. St Ultans battled hard and were awarded a
penalty just before half time which they converted to leave the
half time score was 1.9 to 1.3. On the restart Seneschalstown started
well with Grainne Nulty scoring a great goal and Gillian Bennett
kicking a couple of fine points (Gillian won the Kick Fada the previous
day (Sat.))

Louise Byrne was in fine form in goals denying St. Ultans on two
occassions from scoring goals. Bennett and Orla Sheridan netted
forSeneschalstown and this left it an uphill battle for St. Ultans
to get back on terms.

Stephanie Byrne (one of Seneschalstown Under 16 players) received
player of the match in what must have been a difficult decision
as St. Ultans were not without their stars in Geraldine Doherty
(All Star) and KatieO’Brien.

Seneschalstown now play Grange from Kildare in the Quarter Final
of the Leinster Championship.
