Seneschalstown V’s Grangenolvin 2-17 to 1-6

Seneschalstown progressed in the their Leinster campaign
by beating Grangenolvin near Athy on Sunday. Seneschalstown got
off to a good start and went 1-5 up with no reply from the home
team. Mary Sheridan intercepted a short kick out from the oppositions
goalkeeper to score the Meath champions first goal. Gillian Bennett
was in good form andconverted 5 frees out of 6 in the first half.
The midfield battle was very tight and it was a tough competitive
fight. Grange got their first score on the scoreboard with a goal.
At half time it was 1-10 to 1-2 to Seneschalstown.

The second half started well for Grange and they scored 2 points
by playing the ball straight down the middle through their strong
players.

Orla Sheridan had a tough contest at centre-half forward as her
player was attacking but she did very well to curtail this. Overall
it was a hard fight for the Meath club but they came through it
on top and finished the game off in the last ten minutes with a
goal and a few well taken points. Best for Seneschalstown were Debbie
Dillion, Linda Tully, Edel McGrane, Grainne Nulty, and Fiona Mahon.
