03 November 2014 Senior Club Championship Wide open after Favourites Crash Out Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! The TESCO Homegrown Senior All Ireland Club Championship has been blown wide open following the exit of favourites, Donaghmoyne in the Ulster Final at the weekend. Geraldine McLaughlin lead the way with 4 goals for Termon of Donegal as they accounted for the 2012 All Ireland club champions, Donaghmoyne, to claim the Ulster senior championship title. Termon captain, McLoughlin’s total of 4-04 was a key factor as the newly crowned Ulster champions won on a score of 4-07 to 3-08. In the Ulster Intermediate Championship there was confusion on the final whistle as Monaghan Harps and Four Masters remained unsure as to the result after referee and scoreboard showed different final scores. However, after a review the match was declared a draw on a scoreline of 1-08 to 2-05 with details of the replay to be confirmed. Sarsfields of Laois extended their reign as champions of Leinster when they defeated Dublin’s Na Fianna in a very keenly contested Leinster Championship Final. Na Fianna struggles for scores throughout and with 18 minutes left trailed the champions by 1-06 to 0-04 but they left too much of a mountain to climb as they lost to the now 2 in a row champions on a final score of 1-09 to 1-07. Elsewhere the All Ireland Quarter Finals took place with Murroe Boher, Castleisland Desmonds and Mourneabbey all progressing to the semi final stages.
