03 March 2014 Sligo County Notes Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! 3rd March 2014 The Minor Team got off to an unlucky start when Leitrim scored a goal and a point in the dying minutes to destroy Sligo’s chances of an opening victory in the Championship. The teams were well matched but Sligo failed to take ownership of the game. The minor team are out next on the 15th March at home to Mayo. The Intermediate team travelled to Tipperary on Sunday last and were defeated on a scoreline of 5.3 to 6.13. Another game of goals with Sligo down by a point at haft time but Tipperary edged ahead in the second half. The intermediate team play next on the 9th March against Waterford and it is provisionally booked for 2pm in Sligo IT grounds. The development squad once again are calling all interested U10 girls to play at half time. All clubs are asked to send the girls names to Ann Mohan mohanann12@eircom.net at your earliest convenience. It has been a great success to date and we look forward to the next display of up and coming stars. The County board have announced 2 course dates, 24th March level 2 referees course. This will suit all experienced referees (5yrs plus) who have completed the LGFA Level 1. Existing panel of referees will be notified and any questions can be directed to the Sligo Secretary (ladiessecretarysligo@gmail.com). The 22nd March is provisionally booked to hold the Fundamentals Course. This is suitable to all persons working with teams. It is a beginners course for coaching. Confirmed details will be circulated to all clubs in the coming days. Congratulations to St. Nathys on winning the Connacht and National LGFA award for the Tesco Homegrown 2014 Club Person of the Year. “Sligo Ladies Gaelic” has launched a Facebook page.
