Peil Gael na mBan – who presented the girls with their certificates.
Games Development Officer of Connacht, Mary Beades is to be complemented
along with the G4G Coaches in Sligo Town for all their work over
the past number of weeks with this program which was the first
of its kind in the County.

Participants in the Gaelic4Girls

Sligo Sports Partnership also played a major part in the funding
of the event and Sligo Corporation for the use of their grounds
for the 6 weeks in Abbey Quarter, Cranmore; Seaview Park & Forthill.
G4G main aim is to promote the Ladies game in areas where there
is no Ladies Football being played and for girls between the ages
of 9 – 13 that have never played or never been involved in Ladies
Gaelic Football before.

Members of Connacht Council were also in attendance on the night.
It is hoped that these girls will continue to play Ladies Gaelic
Football with the clubs in the area.
