The weather conditions were great and Knockmore club were a credit for their friendly welcome and making the game of such importance to the girls. However as the game started, Sligo appeared as if they were always second to the ball leaving it to 17 mins before they got a score on the board. But in the second half Sligo came bursting out of their blocks and it was Mayo who had to wait 15mins before putting a score on the board. There were numerous goal oppurtunities for Sligo but Mayo fought well and there defence were excellent. Sligo kept Mayo to only 3 points in the second half but it was not enough as Mayo were the overall winners with a score line of 12 points to Sligo 6. Sligo are now through to the Semi-finals against Galway which are to be played this week. We wish to thank all the parents and other people who travelled to the game to support the girls.
