We invite you to please come out and support the girls in their games. Our u12s closed the curtain on their championship when they took on St. Faithleachs in the Div 3 final in Kilglass on Tuesday evening last. This was a great display of football by the young girls with both teams determined to take home the silverware. It was Faithleachs who opened the scoring moments into the game but Hannah Coen quickly responded with a point followed by a goal from Ceile Simpson that gave us the edge in the first quarter. Again it was Faithleachs who opened the scoring in the 2nd quarter but a point by Mollie Cunnane taken under pressure followed by a well taken free by Cloe Egan kept us ahead but Faithleachs managed to get one more point before the half time whistle with Ciara Mulheir having a fantastic game in full back for St. Croans The third quarter was a defensive one with neither team registering any extra scores but by the fourth quarter St. Faithleachs had found their feet and after Hannah Coen had landed the ball in the back of the Faithleachs net they responded with great determination and went on to level the scores at full time. Tiredness kicked in as a further five minutes aside extra time was played and it was St. Faithleachs who claimed victory. Final Score St. Croans 2 3 St. Faithleachs 3 4. Our Sincere thank you to our panel of girls and to Howard Simpson, Pat Collins and Charlotte McGann for all their work throughout the year and a big thank you to Fiona Thompson and all the ladies who helped to put on a great party for all the players in Ballintubber on Tuesday evening. Training for the junior ladies continues and we would appreciate greater numbers at training. Our u10 girls had their first taste of competitive football when they played a friendly against Tulsk in Enfield on Monday evening last. A blitz has been organised for the girls for the 5th July and further details of this will be available later. Training continues on Monday evenings Share this Article 0 0
