In the last game of the 2012 season the club added more silverware to the cabinet when the minors secured a comfortable victory over Calry / St. Joseph’s in the Minor C final played in Bunninadden Community Park on Saturday last. In a competition when the first game played became the last as only two clubs fielded teams and a straight final was the outcome St. Nathys were first to settle and were 3 points up within the opening minutes before Calry opened their account, St. Nathys should have been further ahead coming into the break but some wayward shooting prevented this happening, indeed Calry were awarded a penalty which should have leveled matters, but St. Nathys keeper Chloe Gormanly saved the shot. On the stroke of half time Calry did get a goal to leave it all level at half time 0-5 to 1-2. Right from the restart St. Nathys laid down a mark of intent when Captain Niamh Gorman scored two goals within the opening minutes, this set the tone for the remainder of the second half with St. Nathys running out winners on a score line of 5-09 to 1-5.
