St. Nathys Weekly Notes

The U12’s had their first championship game last Monday against Drumcliff, while all the girls played well they did not have the edge on Drumcliff and were beaten on the day. Their next game was against Eastern Harps on Monday last.

The minor team travelled to Drumcliff on Wednesday last and with a small panel of 16 but they showed great determination and strength through-out the game and fought hard to secure a draw (Drumcliff 4.9 to St. Nathys 2.15). The minors have only commenced the championship and have to overcome St. Farnan’s and Shamrock Gaels before possibly meeting the north Sligo opponents again. The team that lined out against Drumcliff were: Ciara Keighron, Kelly Ann Gallagher, Aine Brennan, Eleanor Kennedy, Laura McGowan, Grainne McDonagh, Jacqueline Barrett, Tara Doddy, Una Cafferkey (Capt.), Shannon O’Hara, Niamh Gorman, Aileen Gorman, Sandra Scully, Kathleen Coleman, Michelle Scully, Subs: Ciara Gorman. (Absent on the day was Aoife Masterson & Roisin Scully) There next game is 24th August but until then all players are asked to attend training Monday nights at 6.30pm.

The Seniors & U16’s kick off there Championship games this week. The U16’s are out Wednesday night against Owenmore Gaels while the Seniors are down to play St. Michaels on Sunday 14th august at 12noon we wish them luck and will report on their games next week.
