Cora Staunton reminded Ladies Gaelic Football fans throughout the country of her class as she put in a stellar performance to help Mayo overcome hot favourites, Monaghan, in the TESCO HomeGrown National Football League Division 1 semi final last weekend. Staunton accounted for every one of her team’s scores in a 1-10 to 0-09 scoreline in their upset victory over Monaghan. In a recent interview in ‘Peil Magazine’ Cora described her form as ‘average’ but it is safe to say that she has found another gear in recent weeks. Mayo will now go on to face Cork in the final in the TESCO HomeGrown Division 1 Final at Parnell Park on May 11th.
