Strokestown Notes 23.03.2015

SENIOR: The Senior ladies recorded their second win in the League on Sunday.  This was a very one sided contest against Eire Og and we had scorers all over the field; Aisling & Eleanor Hanley, Aisling McAuliffe, Jill Mullooly, Niamh Beirne, Clodagh Compton and Feena Beirne all got their names on the scoresheet.  Team: Maire Mullooly, Aoife Shiel, Feena Beirne, Cait Mullooly, Edwina Nelson, Bronagh McHugh, Colleen Cauneen, Aisling McAuliffe, Sarah Brudell, Eleanor Hanley, Jill Mullooly,  Chelsea Devine, Shauna Fahy, Aisling Hanley, Niamh Beirne. Subs: Clodagh Compton & Sarah Madden. Their next game against St Brigids is fixed for Easter Sunday.

 

U16: The U16’s have a home game this weekend against Castlerea, players will be notified of date and time at training.

 

Good luck to our county girls this weekend. The Minors are away to Leitrim on Saturday while the adult ladies have a home game against Fermanagh on Sunday, time and venue tbc.

 

Well done to Ellen Beirne on winning a Giles Cup medal with TCD at the weekend. They defeated Athlone IT in the final of the Div 2 colleges competition. Ellen is currently fundraising for a hospital in Zambia where she will be volunteering this summer, she will be having a table quiz in Hanlys on Fri 17th April.

 

The presentation of the 2014 Senior League medals takes place on this Friday night 27th March in Hanlys. Everyone welcome. The draw for the two Easter hampers will also take place, lines are on sale locally so please support.
