Ladies National Football League Semi Finals Announced

Suzuki Ladies National Football League Semi Finals 2007

Rebelettes Face Tough Task in Suzuki Ladies National Football
League Semi-final Showdown.

The draw for the Suzuki Ladies National Football League semi-finals
was made last night with Champions Cork facing Mayo and Galway
taking on Kerry in Division 1. The four form sides of the league
all emerged from their respective quarter-final ties with relatively
little discomfort, but the draw has pitted the two league favourites
against one another as current holders Cork face a resilient and
rejuvenated Mayo. Mayo scored 4-18 against Meath in their recent
quarter-final clash and conceded just nine points in an impressive
display which witnessed both Lisa Cafferkey and Cora Staunton
grab a brace of goals. Frank Browne’s charges will pose a real
threat to Cork’s unbeaten run.

In the other Division 1 semi-final surprise package Kerry take
on Galway. Kerry have been racking up huge scores all season and
will look to the likes of Irish soccer international Kacey O’Driscoll
to continue their rich vein of form in front of goal. Galway have
lost only once this season and that was at the hands of Cork so
they will fancy their chances of a second league final appearance
in three years.

In Division 2, All Ireland Junior champions, Sligo play Wexford
while 2004 All Ireland finalists Dublin play host to Tipperary
and in Division 3 Cavan travel to Fermanagh and Louth welcome
Westmeath to the Wee County.
