This weeks Ladies Football round up ARMAGH will contest this years TG4 Ladies Ulster Senior Football final less than 12 months after winning the All-Ireland junior title. The Orchard County only stepped up to senior level following last Octobers junior success but they will now play Monaghan in the Ulster SFC final after yesterdays semi-final results. Armagh actually lost to Tyrone in Greencastle yesterday, 2-6 to 1-7, but they won the tie on aggregate after winning last weeks first leg by four points. Sarah Connolly and Gemma Begley scored Tyrones two goals while Sharon Duncan registered Armaghs solitary strike. Tyrone led by a brace of points at half-time but their chances of grafting out a strong enough win were not helped when they had two players sin binned. Armagh will meet Monaghan in the Ulster final after they beat Down in their semi-final second leg at Clones yesterday, 3-11 to 3-8. Overall, they won the tie by an aggregate of ten points. However, it was Down who got off to the dream start yesterday with an Eilish McConville goal helping them into an early four point lead. But Monaghan replied with 1-4 in succession the impressive Niamh Kindlon rattling home the goal on the quarter hour mark. Kindlon was central to all of Monaghans play yesterday and finished the game with a personal tally of 1-5. Hazel Kingham fired Monaghan six points clear with their second goal after 30 minutes but Down drew level just before the break with a brace of first half injury-time goals from Kyla Treanor. It remained close in the opening stages of the second half but when Grainne McNally scored Monaghans third goal 13 minutes into the second half there was to be no way back for Down. Meanwhile, Fermanagh will play Cavan in the Ulster junior final while the All-Ireland minor decider must be replayed after Cork and Galway played out an exciting draw in Limerick yesterday. Cork 3-8 to Galways 2-11. Share this Article 0 0
