The Tyrone ladies senior football management team of Gerry Moane and Brendan McLaughlin will return to guide the fortunes of the side again in 2017. A meeting of the county board on Tuesday ratified their reappointment with unanimous support for the duo.

Moane returned to take the reins at the start of 2016 for his second term, he was joined by Strabane coach McLaughlin and despite a poor national league campaign the youthful new look side recovered to claim a first Ulster Intermediate title in July.

A long delay between that final and the all Ireland quarter final against Clare effected the side and they lost but already plans were in place for next year with Tyrone set for division two of the league and the Intermediate championship again.

The management duo had indicated in the days after the championship exit that they wanted to remain and the ratification of their reappointment adds further stability to the senior set up. Underage management positions though are all vacant, with applications for all roles now being accepted
