U14 Pre-Feile Blitz

Pre-Feile Blitz (Sarsfields, Kilmacud Crokes, Naomh Olaf)

The first match of the day saw Kilmacud Crokes take on Naomh Olaf, with Naomh Olaf leading at half time by two points. The Crokes regrouped and came out more determined and with the final whistle won 3-1 to 1-3. Naomh Olaf then took on the Sash girls the match was pretty even for the first half with the team’s level 1-4 to 1-4. But a change around up front soon had the home team pelting in scores running out eventual winners 6-6 to 2-6. The last game of the day had Dublin Feile champions of 2011 taking on Kildare Feile champions of 2011, in other words Kilmacud Crokes versus Sarsfields. However the weather erupted as the whistle blew and both teams had to fight against a strong wind and torrential rain. The Sash ladies opened with a goal and always looked comfortable for the first half leading 2-1 to 0-2 at half-time. Knowing that the Crokes were a great team and would definitely put it up to the Sash girls in the second half, the Sash mentors drove home how important it was to listen to the game plan and work to it. So, instilled the Sash ladies took the game to the Crokes both teams battled valiantly despite tiredness and Sarsfields were worthy winners 4-4 to 2-3.
