Ulster Provincial Referee Seminar 2011 Over 32 referees including three from Connacht participated in the annual Provincial referee day at St. Ciarans, Ballygawley on Saturday last. The day was organised by Ladies Gaelic Football, and the day was tutored by Sheena Tally (Ulster Ladies Development Officer), assisted by Karen Togher (National Fixtures Co-ordinator), Aisling Doyle (Ulster Fixtures Secretary) and Jim Shannon (National Fixtures Committee). The first part of the day involved the fitness text which consisted of a bleep test, a T drill test and a 45m sprint. When all 32 referees had completed the tests, it was time to return indoors and where all referees sat their Ladies Gaelic Football Rules test. After lunch, we participated in a quiz to test the knowledge, of the rules test we completed before lunch. The enthusiastic audience had lots of questions and departed ready for the season ahead. It was also agreed that a follow up fitness test would be carried out around May time. By Paul Sift Share this Article 0 0
