Ulster U14 championship glory for Tyrone

Tyrone ladies under 14s Captain Poppy Fox receiving the new Ulster under 14 “Gold” championship trophy from Ulster President Eileen Jones and her team celebrate after winning the provincial final with a 5-15 to 2-7 win over Monaghan at Emyvale on Saturday.

Sorcha Gormley, daughter of former Tyrone star Brian and niece of Eilish, scored 1-7 in a player of the match performance.

Both teams will be involved in the new look all Ireland “Festival of football” series this weekend.

Tyrone led from the start turning in a fine performance, as Olivia Mc Guinness, Emer Mc Canny, Emma Conroy and Ciara Quinn netted the other goals.
