VHI Healthcare PR Day in Croke Park

2007 Vhi Healthcare Club Championships All Ireland Series Launched at Croke Park

Players from across the three grades of the Vhi Healthcare Club Championships, Senior, Intermediate and Junior, gathered at Croke Park to launch the All Ireland Series of the competition.

The senior championship semi-finals will witness a clash of the titans as last years runners-up Carnacon come face to face with 2005 champions Ballyboden St Endas.

The other senior semi-final brings together the two giant killers of this years campaign.  Inch Rovers, who ended Donoughmores reign in Munster, take on Errigal Ciaran, the team that knocked reigning champions Donaghmoyne out of the Championship.

In the Intermediate Championship St Forcherns (Carlow) take on Glen (Derry) while Munster champions Mourneabbey (Cork) face St Nathys (Sligo).

Its Leinster versus Ulster again in the Junior Championship with Dublins Foxrock/Cabinteely up against Latton from Monaghan and in the other side of the draw West Clare Gaels face Curry of Sligo.

Geraldine Giles President of Cumann Peil Gael na mBan said, Some familiar names have again made it to semi-final stages but we also have some new challengers this year which illustrates the growing competitiveness of club competition throughout the country.

Speaking at the launch, Tony McSweeney, Director of Individual and Corporate Business, Vhi Healthcare, said, “Vhi Healthcare is delighted to partner with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association for a second year on the 2007 All Ireland Club Championships.  In this, our 50th year of business, we are more committed than ever to the promotion of healthy living and activity and we feel that this sponsorship is a very successful way of supporting sport in the community.

“Over the past year we have also partnered with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association to host a series of health seminars nationwide for ladies gaelic footballers with events hosted in Dublin, Cork and Belfast to date.  A Vhitality health seminar is also planned for Castlebar on November 15.  We look forward to some exciting games in the semi-finals and finals and wish all teams who have reached the final stages of this prestigious championships the very best of luck in the coming matches,” continued McSweeney.
