VHI LEINSTER LADIES CLUB FOOTBALL FINAL Ballyboden St. Endas 2 -12 Senchalstown (Meath) 1 -14 Ballyboden St. Endas senior ladies are VHI Leinster Ladies Football Champions for the 5th time in 6 years following this nail biting one point defeat of Meath champions Senchalstown at Clane on Sunday. Aswell as securing the provincial title the Firhouse Road side stay on track to retain their All Ireland club title for a third consecative year. Teresa Molohan orginally selected at right half forward but didnt start the game was introduced and came up trumps with 3 points including the crucial winner deep into stoppage time with a free from her hands. At the end of the opening half Boden led 2-7 to 0-7. Sarah Denvir and skipper Louise Kelly with the goals for the Dubliners. The games third goal sparked something in Senchalstown which almost spread into the fire to carry the Mary Sheridan skippered Meath ladies to victory. It was Sheridan who got the goal 4 minutes after the restart. Including that goal they outscored Boden 1-7 to 5 points in the second half. Gillian Bennett and Stephanie Byrne were to the fore in the persuit of the champions. Ballyboden were forced to draw deep from the well of experience built up over the years to get through this one. Teresa Molohan drew the sides level at 2-11 to 1-14 with her second point of this gripping contest before her team engineered the free which she duely had the calmness to convert to clam the victory.
