After an impressive victory on Sunday last Wicklow’s ladies’
footballers attained that which their male counterparts could
not – a place in a league final. In defeating Kilkenny they
secured their berth in the final of the Suzuki National League
division 4 final.

On a perfect day for football Wicklow took advantage of the
space in Aughrim to easily dispose of a Kilkenny side who
were never in contention. The scoreline was generous to the
Cats; all three goals were from defensive mistakes and they
only came into the game late in the second half.
