Annette Clarke (Galway)

Annette Clarke has worked in the engine room of Galway football for the past decade producing fantastic display after fantastic display for the Tribeswomen.

The Kilkerrin Clonberrin club member is a two time TG4 All Star having last being selected on the elite XV in 2013.

Annette is one of the top ranking midfielders in the country who combines a tireless work ethic with defensive awareness and an eye for a score. She is also her county’s penalty taker and rarely passes up an opportunity from the spot as she proved during the recent TESCO Homegrown Division 2 League Final where she slotted home two spot kicks against Waterford.

She has already been selected on the 2014 TESCO Homegrown Division 2 Team of the League following a League campaign where Galway achieved promotion to Division 1 which will be a great boost as they plan their assault on a third Connacht title in a row as well as the long term aim of a return to Croke Park where Annette would be hoping to win a second TG4 All Ireland title.

Although she lines out as a defender more often than not it is her driving runs from the heart of the Dublin defence that launch many of their heart attacks whilst she is often tasked to subdue the oppositions main attacker.

She has also enjoyed success with her club, Foxrock Cabinteely who she lead to Dublin County Championship glory in 2012.
