THE scene is set for the biggest ever Gaelic4Mothers&Others National blitz, sponsored by Sports Direct!

On Saturday, September 3, over 2,500 women will travel to the Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester’s clubs in Dublin, for what promises to be a memorable day.

For the first time since 2019, Gaelic4Mothers&Others clubs from all over the country will have the chance to get together and play games in a non-competitive and fun environment.

132 teams have signed up for a jam-packed day of football, fun and entertainment!

Sports Direct, as sponsors of the Gaelic4Mothers&Others programme, have teamed up with well-known podcaster Laurita Blewitt, who has joined up with her local Gaelic4Mothers&Others club in Knockmore, county Mayo.

Laurita is making her return to Ladies Gaelic Football for the first time in nine years and we’ll be keeping a close eye on her progress throughout the day!

Teams will start to register from shortly after 10am ahead of a mass warm-up at 11.20am on the Naomh Mearnóg Astroturf.

Games on 22 pitches are set to commence at 12pm and after the final games throw in at 3.30pm, live music will commence at 3.45pm.

A silent disco and the Sports Direct photo-wall will be other attractions on the day and we are looking forward to experiencing and embracing the spirit of fun and camaraderie.

The LGFA was fully subscribed once again for this event, with a large number of teams on a waiting list.

The Sports Direct Gaelic4Mothers&Others programme is an innovative way to introduce mothers and other women to Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment.

The initiative has proven immensely popular since its inception, with almost 400 clubs from all 32 counties currently involved, with the aim to grow this further throughout during the remainder of the year and into 2023.
